Run a dialing campaign

A campaign calls the accounts in its lists. You can drive the whole lifecycle from the API.

  1. Find the campaign. List campaigns returns each campaign’s campaign_id, name and display_status (PLAY, PAUSE or STOP).

    Terminal window
    curl https://api.dcdial.com/api/ -d type=get_campaigns -d token="$DCDIAL_TOKEN"
  2. Check what it will dial. List a campaign’s lists shows its lists and how many accounts are left to call. Add accounts first if needed: see Load accounts into a campaign.

  3. Review its settings (optional). Get campaign settings returns the dial method, caller ID, calling hours, answering-machine detection and more, each with the allowed options. Change them with Update campaign.

  4. Place a test call. Place a test call rings one number with the campaign’s settings, so you can hear the message before account holders do. Use your own phone number.

  5. Start dialing. Play campaign starts outbound calls right away. It is rejected if your company’s dialer balance is too low.

    Terminal window
    curl https://api.dcdial.com/api/ -d type=play_campaign -d token="$DCDIAL_TOKEN" -d campaign_id=1024
  6. Watch progress. Campaign summary and Campaign statistics report how many accounts were dialed and answered, and how many remain. Get call results returns call outcomes for a phone number.

  7. Pause or stop. Pause campaign suspends dialing and lets calls in progress finish. Stop campaign ends it and clears its dialing queue.
