Load accounts into a campaign

Each account belongs to your company. To call or text an account, you put it in a list, and each list belongs to a campaign. There are two ways to load accounts into a campaign.

Use Add an account to a campaign when accounts arrive one by one, for example from your CRM or a web form. Each request adds one account with any number of phone numbers and email addresses.

Terminal window
curl https://api.dcdial.com/api/ \
-d type=add_leads \
-d token="$DCDIAL_TOKEN" \
-d campaign_id=1024 \
-d list_id=2048 \
-d account_id=ACC-10045 \
-d first_name=Jane -d last_name=Doe \
-d phones=5550100123,5550100124 \
-d balance=1250.50
  • If you leave out list_id, a new list is created for the campaign.
  • The time zone of each phone number is worked out from its area code (or from the postal code, with postalgmt=POSTAL), so calls respect local calling hours.
  • custom1 to custom20 store your own data on the account, for use in scripts and message templates.

Use Upload an account file for batches. Send the CSV file as a multipart/form-data field named data, together with the format that maps your columns to DCDial fields. You set up import formats in the DCDial app.

Terminal window
curl https://api.dcdial.com/api/ \
-F type=upload_file \
-F token="$DCDIAL_TOKEN" \
-F campaign_id=1024 \
-F format=12 \

The file is processed in the background. Check Get list for the account count.

Create or update an account stores an account with its phone numbers and email addresses without putting it in a campaign. If you send the same accountid again, the account is updated. Use it to keep DCDial in sync with your own system of record.

When someone asks not to be contacted, add their number with Add a number to Do-Not-Call, either company-wide or for one campaign. Campaigns skip blocked numbers. List Do-Not-Call numbers shows which numbers are blocked.
